Funeral Attendant & Minister
Rodger Halvorsen is a caring, engaged citizen with a thirty-five year career in chaplaincy and pastoral care.
Born in Melfort, Saskatchewan, after graduating from Melfort Collegiate and post-secondary education Rodger began what became a life-long career supporting people. He served as a chaplain with the Kelowna General Hospital, eight years of which he served as chairman of the Chaplaincy Program.
Rodger has always been deeply involved in the communities he and his wife Bonnie have resided. Minor Hockey, Rotary Club, the Canadian Legion are just a few of the organizations he participated. He served as Padre of the Legion over many years and is currently Vice-President of Nord-Bridge Seniors Centre.
Rodger’s interest in the welfare of people during times of celebration, adversity, or grief has been apparent throughout his life. When Rodger joined us at Martin Brothers in January, 2015, he brought with him a commitment to excellence in the care we provide for grieving families.
