Funeral Director
Dale Martin Jr. is a third generation Funeral Director and President/Owner of Martin Brothers Funeral Services, a company with a history dating back to 1907. Born in Alberta, Dale is a graduate of Brentwood College School on Vancouver Island, and has always considered Vancouver a second home. Dale attended the University of Lethbridge and studied Management Arts. His wife Colleen is Vancouver born and raised, and along with their two boys, Will and Jack, the Martin family spends much of their time in Lethbridge and Vancouver. Along with their new location in Dunbar in Vancouver’s West Side and the Pacific Ceremny yacht, Dale is also Chairman of the Board for The Caring Group Corp. and owns other funeral homes, flower shops, and monument design operations across Alberta and British Columbia.
Dale was instrumental in development of The Caring Group Corp’s. proprietary software, “eCare” Funeral Home Management Systems. This ground breaking software is now used in over 100 funeral homes throughout Canada and is key and instrumental to the advancement in technology within the funeral profession. Dale is a member of Rotary Club of Lethbridge, Chamber of Commerce, Better Business Bureau both in Lethbridge and Vancouver. He is a member of both the Alberta executive and British Columbia Funeral Service Associations and the Canadian Funeral Service Association. In the business for over 35 years, Dale knows both the value of commemorating a loved one and understands the ever-evolving funeral market.
General Manager / Funeral Director
Daryl began his career while still attending Winston Churchill High School. After high school he went on to graduate from the Alberta School of Mortuary Science as a licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer. Daryl managed the Memorial Chapel (Martin Brothers North location) until 1998 when he took a position with Howard & McBride Westlawn (Edmonton, Alberta). A year later he moved to Portage la Prairie, MB where he managed Omega Funeral Home. In the spring of 2001, Daryl returned to Lethbridge and Martin Brothers as General Manager. Daryl is married to Jamie and together they have 2 furry children Zoey and Gracy. Daryl is a past president of the Rotary Club, Oddfellows Lodge, Past Director of the Lethbridge Boys & Girls Club, 4th Degree Knight as well as member of several other organizations.
Managing Funeral Director
Bruce was born in Regina, Saskatchewan and moved to Red Deer, AB in 1971. After playing 5 years of Jr. Hockey in Lethbridge, Drumheller and Red Deer, he attended Red Deer College and received a Diploma in Business Administration in 1980. In 1982 he moved to Lethbridge to work for Hudson’s Bay Wholesale as a Sales Representative in Southern Alberta. In 1989 he started his apprenticeship program with Martin Bros, graduating in 1991 as a Funeral Director / Embalmer from the Alberta Funeral Service Association. Bruce has continued to serve families in Lethbridge and Southern Alberta with Martin Bros for 21 years. Bruce has 6 children and 2 grandchildren. His wife Janine works for the City of Lethbridge.
Managing Funeral Director
Chris G. Jong (Martin) represents the fourth-generation of the Martin Family and the first fourth-generation funeral director in the province of Alberta. Chris is the son of Gordon and Elizabeth Jong, the great grandson of Ben and Elizabeth Martin and the grandson of Dale and Kay Martin. Chris started his Funeral Service career in 1997 washing the funeral cortège at Martin Brothers after school. In 2003 Chris enrolled in the funeral director/embalmer program with the Western School of Funeral Service, graduating in 2005. Chris worked with Arbor Memorial Services Inc. in Edmonton from 2003 until 2007, leaving the family business and obtaining his licenses outside our city. Chris is married to Carla Mroch and together they have a son, Grayson Christopher, born in 2009 and a daughter Aubrey Ann, born in 2013. Chris has continued a legacy of service and tradition throughout Southern Alberta. Chris is a local member of the Knights of Columbus council #10547, Lethbridge Fish and Game Association, Lethbridge Young Professionals, Alberta Funeral Service Association, and the American Institute of Embalmers.

Brianne was born and raised in Creston B.C and moved to Lethbridge following her high school graduation in 2005. Brianne started her career in funeral service with Martin Brothers Funeral Chapels Ltd. in 2006. She attended the Canadian College of Funeral Service, graduating May 1, 2009. Brianne married Matthew Kempe of Taber in July 2011 and together they welcomed a daughter in the fall of 2015.

Sandy Regier has called Lethbridge home for the past 37 years, and in 2010 moved with her husband Rusty, and their children; Apryl and Matt to Coaldale, where they reside today. After several years in the banking profession, Sandy entered into funeral service with Martin Brothers Funeral Chapels in 2007 and obtained her funeral director/embalmers licenses in 2010 from the Canadian College of Funeral Service. Sandy serves the families within our community by working closely on custom monument design, personalized pre-arranged funeral plans and aftercare services. Sandy feels blessed to be assisting the grieving families of Southern Alberta, and is proud to play an intricate role as a member of the Martin Brothers team of funeral service professionals.
Funeral Director
Lisa was born in Lethbridge, and has lived in Taber and Lethbridge most of her life. She graduated from the University of Lethbridge, and after careers in sales and finance, she decided to enter into funeral service in 2014. Her genuine concern in looking after families during one of their most difficult journeys is something she takes great pride in. She spends her spare time with friends and family, and enjoys the strong sense of community that Southern Alberta provides.
Funeral Director
Bruce was born and raised in Southern Alberta. He entered funeral service at Martin Bros. in May of 1972 and received his funeral directors and embalming licence in 1974. After 47 years he continues to be of service throughout the Caring Group of funeral homes across Alberta and B.C. He was married to Dawna Rae (deceased 2016) and has made Lethbridge home for over 50 years and honoured to be of service to this community.

Jessica Mayen-Hart began working in funeral service in 2014, graduating from the Canadian College of Funeral Service in the spring of 2016. Prior to entering funeral service, Jessica attended the Lethbridge College, graduating from the Criminal Justice Program. She married Levi Hart of Lethbridge and together they have a beautiful daughter Selene Mayen-Hart. Jessica cherishes time with family, loves to travel and has a zest for trying new things. Her family is originally from El Salvador and Jessica is fluent in Spanish. She considers it a great honour to be a part of the Latin-American Community. Jessica is grateful to the families of Southern Alberta for placing their trust in her during their time of need. She is an asset to the team at Martin Brothers and her attention to detail makes her a great funeral director.
Apprenticing Funeral Director
Riley was born and raised in Langley, BC, moving
to Lethbridge, AB in 2013. After graduating high school in 2014, Riley attended
the University of Lethbridge studying Kinesiology. During his time at the
University Riley was honoured to be a member of the University of Lethbridge
Pronghorns Soccer Team. Riley began his career in funeral service with Martin
Brothers Funeral Chapels in 2016 and is currently attending the Canadian
College of Funeral Service, and is slated to graduate in April 2019. Riley is
proud to call Lethbridge home and to serve the families of Southern Alberta.

Tom was born and raised in Lethbridge and
attended the Catholic Central High School, graduating in 2012. Tom is a proud
first generation Canadian, his parents immigrating from Hungary in the late
1980’s. He began his career in Funeral Service with Martin Brothers Funeral
Chapels in February of 2016, working as a funeral attendant. He is an essential
member of the Martin Brothers Team and is proud to serve the bereaved families
of Southern Alberta.

Trudie was born and raised in Southern Alberta
and has lived most of her life in Lethbridge. She is married to Bert Slomp, has
two married children and five grandchildren. She loves travelling and being
energetically involved in her grandchildren’s activities. After retiring from
the nursing profession, Trudie joined Martin Brothers in 2013. One of Trudie’s
goals in life is to be a blessing to others, using her skills as a compassionate
and caring person. Trudie is proud and honored to serve the families of
Southern Alberta by continuing the tradition of excellence that Martin Brothers
strives to provide.
Funeral Attendant
Alan Litchfield was born in England, emigrating with his family to Canada when he was young, and has lived from coast to coast in Canada. Recently celebrating their 50th anniversary, Al and his wife have three children and 6 grandchildren. He currently serves as pastor of Raymond Baptist Church as well as chaplain for Stirling Fire Department. Al joined Martin Bros. in 2013 and has worked for a number of years in the funeral business. He is honoured to have the opportunity to work with the excellent staff at Martin Brothers as well as to serve the families of Lethbridge and area in their time of need.

Rodger Halvorsen is a caring, engaged citizen with a thirty-five year career in chaplaincy and pastoral care.
Born in Melfort, Saskatchewan, after graduating from Melfort Collegiate and post-secondary education Rodger began what became a life-long career supporting people. He served as a chaplain with the Kelowna General Hospital, eight years of which he served as chairman of the Chaplaincy Program.
Rodger has always been deeply involved in the communities he and his wife Bonnie have resided. Minor Hockey, Rotary Club, the Canadian Legion are just a few of the organizations he participated. He served as Padre of the Legion over many years and is currently Vice-President of Nord-Bridge Seniors Centre.
Rodger’s interest in the welfare of people during times of celebration, adversity, or grief has been apparent throughout his life. When Rodger joined us at Martin Brothers in January, 2015, he brought with him a commitment to excellence in the care we provide for grieving families.
Pre Arrangement Advisor
Allan was born and raised in a family that has been in Lethbridge for well over 100 years. He is a caring professional and has helped hundreds of families in Lethbridge and Southern Alberta for more than 8 years. Allan joined Martin Brothers in 2004 and his life experience, leadership and dedication enable him to provide individuals and families, of all ages, with Peace of Mind. As he often says; “PreArrangement is not about death, it’s simply about being organized”.
Funeral Attendant
Lorri was born and raised in Lethbridge,
Alberta. She was a Victim Services Coordinator for the RCMP and Coaldale
Police service for 17 years. She is a 4th year student at the University of
Calgary in the Faculty of Social Work and plans to work in loss and bereavement
after graduation. Lorri has 3 children and is a very proud Nana to 5 adorable
little granddaughters. In her spare time Lorri enjoys camping with her fiancé,
Duane and their 3 fur babies, gardening and running. Lorri is very proud
to work with Martin Brothers serving the families of Southern Alberta.
Dennis grew up in Lethbridge and was a graduate of LCI. After a 40 year career with a major chartered bank, he and his family decided to retire in Lethbridge. Married to wife, Trudy for 39 years, they have 2 children and two grandchildren. Involved in the community, Dennis has served on many local boards including the Chamber of Commerce and Community Foundation of Lethbridge and Southwestern Alberta. Dennis is proud to work with Martin Brothers. and looks forward to serving families of Southern Alberta.
IT Director
Darryl was raised in the small community of Redcliff, AB located just west of Medicine Hat. He moved to Lethbridge in 1992 where he attended the University of Lethbridge. He has over 20 years experience in computers and database systems. He received a Business Administration Diploma from the Medicine Hat College as well as a Bachelor of Management Degree from the University of Lethbridge. Darryl is proud to be serving Southern Alberta families with Martin Brothers Funeral Chapels since 2001.
Soloist
Cathie is married to Brian Weersink and as the youngest of the three Martin children, Cathie and Brian have three boys of their own; Adam, Austin and Arik. Cathie is a graduate of the University of Lethbridge, with a bachelor’s degree in music, and teaches school at Father Leonard Van Tigem School in Lethbridge. She also offers her beautiful voice as a soloist at many funeral services in Lethbridge and Southern Alberta.

Elizabeth is the wife of Chartered Accountant Gord Jong; mother to Terrah and Chris; mother in law to Carla and Grammie to Grayson and Aubrey. Elizabeth has a Bachelor of Music in voice and piano from the University of Lethbridge, and is a licensed Funeral Director working at Martin Brothers Funeral Chapels, where she focuses on funeral preplanning. Following in the footsteps of her grandfather, father, brother and son, Elizabeth is honoured to be part of the funeral profession.
Organist
Mary Lee
Voort received her early musical training in B.C, and began playing for church
services and ballet classes at age 13. She attended the University of
Lethbridge, where she received a Bachelor of Music degree in piano performance.
She has extensive experience in both the pipe organ and piano, having had
positions at various churches in Lethbridge over the years. She was the accompanist
for the Anne Campbell Singers, travelling with them to Europe and acting as
rehearsal pianist for the massed international choir festival in Vienna,
Austria. She has been the accompanist for numerous soloists and
instrumentalists, school choirs, musical theatre productions, and city church
choirs. Mary Lee enjoys her positions as church organist for St. Augustine's
Anglican Church, accompanist for Vox Musica Community Choir, principal
keyboardist with the Lethbridge Symphony Orchestra, and a full teaching and
accompanying schedule. One of her greatest joys, though, is being able to
provide the comfort of beautiful music to families who are grieving.
Organist
After a High School teaching career in U.K., Alan came to Canada in 1985
to be Music Director at St. Augustine’s Anglican Church in Lethbridge. He
combined this with Examining and Adjudicating for major National oganisations,
retiring in 2016. With numerous relatives on both sides of the Atlantic,
Alan currently enjoys travelling and visiting.
