SHELLEY THOM
Aftercare Specialist & Monument Counsellor
Shelley was born and raised on a farm in Lethbridge County. She spent time in her adult life working throughout Western Canada as a Paralegal until she moved back to Lethbridge in 1998. Only months after returning, she met the love of her life and future husband, Gerrard Thom. Together they raised their son Adam and filled their lives with community, family, and a love of God.
After a long and difficult battle with ALS, Gerrard passed away in 2017. Entrusting the care of her loving husband to Martin Brothers, Shelley’s experience with her husband’s funeral sparked her own interest in funeral services. Soon after Gerrard’s services, Shelley was offered a position at the Riverview Chapel where she could guide and comfort families going through their own losses.
Shelley is a strong advocate for ALS research and awareness, an involved member of the All Saints Parish, and lifeline to families as they navigate estate settlement, government paperwork, and countless other post-funeral matters. The families she serves know her for her kindness, warmth, and shining personality, as well as her expertise and professionalism.
