Margaret Joyce Yeoman 1938 - 2012
Margaret ""Wiggie"" Yeoman of Lethbridge, beloved wife of the late Roger Yeoman passed away June 18, 2012 at the age of 73 after a lengthy battle with cancer.
Wiggie is survived by her three sons Tom, Greg and Allan (Claudia); her mother Margaret Bailey, sisters Sandra (Mike) Parsons and Wendy (Ted) Stevenson, brothers Rick (Linda) Martin and Rob (Linda) Martin, sister-in-law Christine (Mike) Seiler, and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband Roger, Wiggie was predeceased by her father John James Martin, her brother Glen and his wife Lois, her sister Donelda, nephew James and niece Cindy.
Wiggie was born and raised in Noranda Quebec. In her early 20s she traveled to England where she met her husband Roger after renting a room at his sister's house. She grew up with cats and dogs and there were always animals in the house. Animals were dear to her, and she always treated them with love and respect.
From the time she was old enough Wiggie was involved with Sunday School, teaching in all the places that she lived. One of her proudest accomplishments was receiving her Gold Cord in Guides and many other awards associated with Guides and camping. Wiggie had many good friends from her Church, the Anglican Church Women and from working at Sears.
Wiggie said she raised three kind and thoughtful sons and she loved them dearly. She also said she has a lovely daughter-in-law who can cook up a storm.
Wiggie enjoyed her trips to Hawaii with her mother and sisters. Her biggest trip was a dream fulfilled when she and Roger traveled to see Israel and to the Passion Play at Oberamergau, Germany that reflected the life of Christ from the Bible. She said it was so well done it took her breath away.
Wiggie wanted to thank everyone who helped her through her illness. Their kindness and generosity is greatly appreciated.
