Official Obituary of

1/3/1935 - to - 30/4/2008

After a lengthy illness, JEAN passed away peacefully at the Chinook Regional Hospital on April 30, 2008. Beloved mother of Wendy (Dale Sr) Jensen, of Lethbridge, AB. She also leaves to mourn, her ""Chosen Daughter"" Sandra (Brian) Murray, Grandson and ""Sidekick"" Trevor Wilson, Granddaughter Tracy Murray all of Easten, SK. As well, Daughter-in-law Brenda Maxwell of Lundy, B.C, Grandson B.J. Wilson (Sparla and family) and Tyler Wilson of Lethbridge. She also leaves her brother Ken (Dee) Gray of Winnipeg, Man. Jean was known as Grandma and ""Big Baba"" to her extended family; Christine (Travis Brouwer) of Calgary, AB., Dale Jensen (Brenda) of Coaldale, AB., and Ryan Jensen (Chantal) of Lethbridge, AB., and eight great-grandchildren. Throughout her life, Jean remained close to her Aunt, Margaret Goldie, sister-in-law Sharon Goldie, and cousins Art and Carol Bedster. She also leaves behind several Nieces and Nephews.

Jean was born in the Galt Hospital in Lethbridge on March 1, 1935. She grew up on the north side, attending Galbraith School. She was a member of the Alpha Rho Girls Club and the Rebecca Lodge. As a youth Jean enjoyed playing drums in the Drum and Bugle Marching Band, travelling around Southern Alberta and the States to perform. Jean married, and farmed west of Lethbridge for years, raising her family and making life-long friends of her neighbours - Polly, Frances, Mary and Pat. She was involved with the Newlands Community and the Coalhurst Legion, and enjoyed playing cards, cake decorating, camping and doing ceramics.

Upon leaving the farm, she moved to West Lethbridge where she became involved in Ladies City Darts. She enjoyed playing both locally and nationally. She loved going to Las Vegas to play darts, or spend time with her brother George and his family. Jean loved Bingo and was a member of the Labour Club, and Royal Canadian Legion in Lethbridge. She made a lot of friends over the years and treasured her very close and dear friendship with Teri Lazaruk (Ernie) in northern Saskatchewan. In the last few years, Jean was involved with the Bridges program. She loved the people there-staff and fellow clients. She was able to remain in her home thanks to the assistance of Lethbridge Family Services Home Care. Jean became very fond of her caregivers, especially long-time caregiver, Brenda S.

Jean was predeceased by her son Craig Wilson, (of whom she was so proud), her Mom and Dad, Helen (Nellie) and Jim Goldie, her brothers - Bill (Colene Rosling) and George (Sharon) Goldie.

A Memorial Service to Celebrate Jean's life will be held at 11:00 A.M., on Monday, May 5, 2008 at MARTIN BROS. RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610-4th St. S.

Memorial donations may be made in Jean's memory to the Bridges Program, #207, 200-4th Ave. S., Lethbridge, AB T1J 4C9 or a charity of one's choice.
