Dorothy passed away September 16, 2010 at the Chinook Regional Hospital in Lethbridge with her girls by her side.

Dorothy leaves behind her children Tracy (Sandy) Rankel of Kamloops, Mary Hill (Pete) of Lethbridge, Bobby Lochrie (Cindy) from Port Coquitlam, her grandchildren Nicole Rankel (Steven) from Vancouver, Nicholas Rankel from Salmon Arm, Jessie Stecyk (Steven) from Fort McMurray, Katie Stecyk (Garret) from Lethbridge, Sarah Lochrie from Kamloops, Bobby Lochrie from Calgary and three great grandchildren. She also leaves behind numerous extended family members and friends.

Dorothy was predeceased by her husband Wilfred Ray Wiest in 1995.
Dorothy was an exceptional mother and grandmother who loved her kids and grandchildren with a passion. She never tired of spending time with them or talking about them.

Her next love was the Wiest clan. She often commented on how blessed she was to be part of such a loving family. She would often use the expression ""the boys"" and everyone knew that was reference to the Wiest families. They all meant the world to mom.

When the children grew and moved on Dorothy went to work for a real wage. She worked in the hospital cafeterias in Edmonton, Calgary, and eventually at St. Michaels in Lethbridge. It was a source of constant joy for mother to have people approach her in the mall or on the street and say ""I remember you from the cafeteria at the hospital"".

Mom always took great pride in her appearance to the point that she was very fussy about every detail, right down to the matching shoes. She had a very keen eye for fashion that suited her and where all the good deals were to be had.
Special thanks to the staff at Chinook Regional Hospital in the emergency room and 4C who were so kind and comforting toward our mother.

Family and friends may pay their respects from 7:00 to 9:00 pm on Monday, September 20, 2010 at MARTIN BROS. RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 4th Street South, Lethbridge.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, September 21, 2010 at MARTIN BROS. RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, with Pastor Jeff Frostad, officiating.

Interment at Enchant Cemetery.
