It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of JOHN ""JACK"" WATERHOUSE of Lethbridge, with his family at his side, at the age of 87 years on Tuesday, March 20, 2007 at the Chinook Regional Hospital. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Ileen Maud Waterhouse.
Jack was born on December 3, 1919 in Cereal, Alberta. As he grew up in Cereal he worked in the family store and in his free time enjoyed curling and playing ball with his brothers and his friends. At the age of 26 he married Ileen Bishop and they moved to Calgary. After the birth of their first daughter they moved to Lethbridge where their 3 other daughters were born. While raising their family Jack worked with the Canadian Grain Elevators until his retirement. Jack was a long time member of York Lodge 119 as well as many other Masonic bodies. He was also a member of the Lethbridge Shrine Club and the Royal Canadian Legion. In Jack's retirement he enjoyed his time with family and friends. Jack always looked for and enjoyed the fun and joy of life. Jack always enjoyed children and in his last years his great-grandchildren brought a twinkle to his eye. Jack enjoyed a full and healthy life.
Jack is lovingly remembered by his three daughters Jackie (Glen) Snider; Darlene and Judy Waterhouse and his grandchildren Carolyn (Todd) Hawton; Leanne (Kelly) Adams; Rhonda (Brent) Henschell; Donovan Snider; Jason (Amy) Burns and Kyle Burns and his 8 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his three sisters Irene Lawson, Ruth McMahon and Jerry Alexander as well as numerous nieces, nephews and their families.
Besides his loving wife, Jack is predeceased by his daughter, Victoria Burns, his two brothers Al and Jiggs Waterhouse and his sister Margaret Stone.
A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, March 24, 2007 at the Martin Brothers Riverview Chapel, 610-4th St. South, Lethbridge, AB. with Reverend Larry D. Hankinson officiating.
