GARNET MILTON WALKER beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, passed away at Stavely on Saturday, August 11, 2007 at 77 years of age.
Born in Goldburn, SK, Garnet joined the RCMP in 1949 and served at various posts around Alberta until retiring as S/Sgt in 1975. Garnet and Jane purchased her families farm at Stavely in 1974. While farming, Garnet worked for the Alberta Government in charge of the Lethbridge Disaster Services office 1975 to 1995. Garnet and Jane moved back to Lethbridge in 1993. During this time he enjoyed racing Quarter Horses with his family.
Garnet will be deeply missed by Jane, his wife of 53 years, his son John (Margaret) of Calgary, his son Jay (Joan) of Stavely and his 3 granddaughters, Jacquelyn, Jennifer and Rachel. Garnet is also survived by his sister Laura Queen of Tisdale, SK, his brother Ivan (Ethel) Walker of Hudsons Bay, SK, his brother-in-law Lawrence Tyerman of Prince Albert, SK, brother-in-law Brian Forbes of Ontario and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Garnet was predeceased by his parents Bertrum and Jessie Walker, his infant daughter, Lori Patricia, his brother Leslie Walker and by his sisters Alma Tyerman and Noreen Forbes.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00PM on Wednesday, August 15, 2007 at MARTIN BROS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 - 4 Street South, Lethbridge.
