Mrs. Ivanka “Jean” Vidmar of Lethbridge, beloved wife of the late Mr. Jernej “Jerry” Vidmar, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 22, 2021 at the age of 93 years.

Mom was born on December 27, 1927 in Notranje Gorice, Slovenia. After several years in Spittal, Austria her family relocated to Chicago, Illinois before rejoining Jerry in Lethbridge. Jerry and Jean were married in 1953 and started their family.

Mom was an active member of the CWL and enjoyed serving her community. She loved her garden and was always ready to share her bountiful harvest. She was a devoted mother and grandmother. Her greatest pleasures were having all of her family together.

Ivanka “Jean” is survived by her daughters Anna (Per) Hansen, Cathy Korby; son Peter (June) Vidmar; grandchildren Chris Hansen, Sara Hansen, Dakota (Stephanie) Vidmar, Ethan Vidmar, David (Beth Johnson) Korby.

Besides her loving husband Jernej “Jerry”, Ivanka “Jean” was predeceased by her parents Anton and Marija Brencic; son Frank Vidmar and son-in-law Steve Korby.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 1:00pm on Monday, November 29, 2021 at OUR LADY OF THE ASSUMPTION ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2405 – 12 Avenue South, Lethbridge, Alberta, with Father Kevin Tumback, celebrant. Interment will follow in the Mountain View Cemetery.
