Alice Vander Woude

1927 ~ 2013

With family at her side, Alice Vander Woude, left to be with her Lord and Savior on December 3, 2013 at the age of 85 years. Alice was born on December 4, 1927 in Alameda, California, the youngest of three children of John and Cornelia Van Egmond. At the age of 4, she moved with her family to the Monarch area. On July 15, 1947 she married her farmer sweetheart, John Vander Woude and they resided on their farm near Nobleford. Jock & Allie were blessed with 60 years together before John's passing in 2007. Alice's faith, hope and trust were in God. A happy, loving marriage, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren filled her life with joy. We will always remember her loving, giving, dedicated care for us all, her kind heart and quiet inner strength. She is survived by her children- Rob of Edmonton, Sharon of Nobleford, and Lauren (Sheila) of Lethbridge; grandchildren- Dustin (Amber), Jordan (Chelsea) all of Lethbridge, Mackenzie (Joshua) Swaok of Cole Harbour, Nova Scotia, Amy (Joshua) of Beaumont; great-grandchildren Dominic, Madison, Draven, and Elliot; and sister-in- law Janette Van Egmond of Nobleford. She was predeceased by her beloved husband John, her parents, her sister Hermina (Arie) Van Gaalin, her brother Casey Van Egmond and all her Vander Woude brothers & sisters-in-law. An interment will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday, December 9, 2013 at the Nobleford Monarch Cemetery followed by the Memorial Service held at 2:00 pm at the Christian Reformed Church of Nobleford, 522 Highway Ave, with Pastor Kevin Jordan and Pastor Pete VanderBeek officiating.
