Official Obituary of

22/8/1936 - to - 21/9/2010

DONALD RUSSELL TWETER, beloved husband of Myrna Tweter of Lethbridge, passed away peacefully at Chinook Regional Hospital on Tuesday, September 21, 2010 at the age of 74.

Besides his loving wife of 50 years, Don is survived by his son Kelly, and daughters Shelly (Todd) Hutchinson, Susan Kristensen, Nicole (Blair) Spence; as well as his grandchildren; Kyle, Karly, Kelsey, Riley, Justin, Jayden and Dawson. Don is also survived by his brother, Robert (Delta) Tweter; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents Trygve and Pearl Tweter, his parents-in-law Albert and Norma Lardner, his sister Bernice Tweter and his brother Orville Tweter.

Don was born on August 22, 1936 in Edmonton, Alberta. This is where he met and married Myrna (Lardner) on June 11, 1960. He worked as a sales representative for most of his career, traveling Alberta, Saskatchewan, and BC.

Don's sense of humour and entertaining personality gained him many friends over the years. He loved to make others laugh and was a great prankster. He never went anywhere without his ""Tweter Smile"". Don always put his family first and loved to join in on family activities. He looked forward to summer campouts, and winter vacations in Hawaii, Mexico and Las Vegas. Attending his kids and his grandkids many sporting events was an enjoyable pastime for him; he was their biggest fan. Along with his love for hockey, he enjoyed playing golf, and was quite a pool shark. He was a member of the Old Timer's Hockey Association, The Elks Club and A.C.T.

The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to Dr. Cal Stewart, Dr. David Stewart and the nurses on 3C. They would also like to thank all of the staff in Cottage 5 at the Good Samaritan Society, Park Meadows Village where Don was loved and cared for over the past year.

A private family service will be held.

Flowers are gratefully declined. Those who wish may make a memorial donation in Don's name to the Alzheimer's Society, #402 - 740 4th Avenue South, Lethbridge, Alberta T1J 0N9.

Don was a loving husband, father, grandfather and will be sadly missed.
