December 6, 1926 - June 28, 2010

MRS. DAPHNE (nee BRITT) TOMLINSON of Lethbridge, passed away peacefully at St. Michael's Palliative Care Centre on Monday, June 28, 2010 at the age of 83 years.

Born in Bristol, England in 1926, Daphne joined the RAF and served until the end of WWII in 1945. She married Roy in December 1945 and came to Canada as a war bride in 1946. Daphne had many years as a loving grandmother, great grandmother and a wonderful wife of 65 years and she will be lovingly remembered by all.

She is survived by her husband Roy and their children; Bill (Peggy) Barbara (Ian), Evelyn (Rick), Peter (Brenda), and Roy (Mona), many grandchildren and great grandchildren and her younger sister Evelyn (Malcolm) Reid, who reside in Wales.

Daphne was predeceased by her mother Evelyn, her stepfather Bill, her father Fred Britt and brothers; Peter, Timothy and Charles.

Daphne had many great years as a member of the Lethbridge Golf & Country Club and later Land of Lakes Golf Club. She spent 25 years enjoying golf and winters with some fine American friends in Morro Bay, California.

Daphne and Roy farmed in the Halkirk, Alberta district from 1945 to 1974. Daphne was an active member of the Royal Purple Club for many years. They retired to Lethbridge and enjoyed many years here golfing, bowling and travelling.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, July 2, 2010 at ST. AUGUSTINE'S ANGLICAN CHURCH, 411 11th Street South, Lethbridge, with The Reverend Chris Roth, officiating.

Interment in the Tomlinson family plot at Gadsby, Alberta, on July 3, 2010 at 2:00 pm.
