ROBERT DALE THOMPSON of Lethbridge passed away in Coaldale on Tuesday, December 30, 2008 at the age of 71 years.

Dale was born March 16th, 1937 and was adopted by Robert and Clara Thompson of Nobleford. His formative years were spent on the family's dryland farm in Nobleford, where he attended school. He then attended Olds College and was most proud of his time spent there where he met and married Margaret Townsend. They moved to Lethbridge, and eventually relocated to the Crowsnest Pass, where he drove logging trucks and worked as a bus driver. The family relocated to Lethbridge, where Dale was proudly a member of the Lethbridge City Police Service for five years. He then went on to work as a truck driver and equipment operator, and retired while working with Dueck Construction.

Dale was predeceased by his mother and father Robert and Clara Thompson, his wife Margaret, and sister Margaret Goldie.

Besides his loving partner Erma Miller of Lethbridge, Dale's memory will be cherished by his sons Jim (Leigh) of Lethbridge, Tim (Anna) of Lethbridge and Rob (Cindy Sorkilmo) of Lethbridge; his sister Rosalie Homulos of Lethbridge; grandchildren Amanda and Robert (Michelle) Thompson of Lethbridge, Chais and Tianna Thompson of Lethbridge, and Blake (Coral) Jolicoeur of Spruce Grove; as well as numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and their families.

A Memorial Reception will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, January 2, 2009 at the ROYAL CANADIAN LEGION, 324 Mayor Magrath Dr. South, Lethbridge.
