I have summoned you by name; you are mine.""

CLARA ROEN (MASER) STROMSMOE
January 24, 1919 - May 9, 2011

CLARA STROMSMOE, beloved wife of the late Arnold Stromsmoe, our mother and grandmother passed peacefully into the arms of her Saviour at the age of 92.

Clara is survived by her children, Sandra (Bob) Ackerman, Mylo (Sharon), and Edwin (Linda); grandchildren, Darren (Melanie) Ackerman, Kristy (Chad) Billyard, Cameron (Brooke) Stromsmoe, Tiffany (Mike) Schooten, Brittany (Chad) Giesbrecht, and Jay (Carianne) Stromsmoe; great-grandchildren, Sophie and Lily Ackerman; Oliver, Isaiah and Jack Billyard; Noah and Quinten Stromsmoe; Georgia, Walker and Paisely Schooten; Chloe, Rhett and Alexandra Giesbrecht. Clara is also survived by her sisters and brother; Tillie Stack, Edward Maser, Helen (Leroy) Wegner, Irene Reierstad; Arnold's sisters Marie Morrison, Lois Thompson, Ramona Hanson, Olga (Jim) Kratchmer, brother in law Bob Slack and their families.

Clara was predeceased by her faithful husband, Arnold, March 11, 2011; father and mother Jacob and Amelia Maser; sister Ella, brothers and sister-in-law, Emil Eslinger, Fred Stack, Ellen Maser, and Cliff Reierstad. Clara was also predeceased by Arnold's brothers; Gerald, Mylo, Demoine; sisters Hester, and Lavon; brother in-laws Jack McCullough, Don Morrison, Tom Thompson, and Herb Hanson.

Clara was born on the Maser family ranch south east of Manyberries. She left home to work as domestic help, then for several years at Dominion Glass, Redcliff. Clara met Arnold at a dance in One-Four after he came home from the war and were married October, 1948. Their marriage is a testimony to the beauty of two people who are unselfishly committed to one another.

Mom lived a life of quiet, practical faith in Christ; looking after her husband, home, children and grand-children. She was a wonderful homemaker. Mom's example of a life well lived before the face of God is one that we will never forget, and by God's grace we will live as well.

We would like to thank Dr. Meller and the compassionate staff at Ste. Therese Villa for their care of Mom in the last two years of her life.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at the EVANGELICAL FREE CHURCH OF LETHBRIDGE, 4717 - 24 Avenue South/Coutts Highway.

Memorial donations can be made to the Orion Evangelical Free Church Building Fund, c/o Debbie Kleinknecht, Box 75, Orion, AB T0K 1S0.
