Joyce Kathleen Stannard

1927 ~ 2018

Mrs. Joyce Kathleen Stannard (Earwads) of Lethbridge, beloved wife of Anthony (Tony) Stannard, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 14, 2018 at the age of 90 years.

Joyce was born on June 16, 1927 in England. She married Tony in 1946. She and Tony, with their son Barry, emigrated to Canada in 1957. She worked diligently to make a new home here. She held several administrative positions and, for a time, owned and operated a Vanda Beauty Counselor franchise in which she travelled over much of southern Alberta.

She and Tony liked to travel, making trips to England, Bermuda and Hawaii. For many years Joyce enjoyed RVing, especially camping in Many Glacier National Park. She hiked and fished with family. Joyce was an avid knitter and made many fine garments for herself and family. She often knitted for charities in Lethbridge.

Joyce is survived by her son Barry (Mavis); grandchildren Katherine and Anthony (Nanda) Stannard; great granddaughters Joyce and Vidya; as well as several nieces nephews and their families in England.

Joyce was predeceased by her husband Tony, her parents George and Florence Edwards, of England, and all her siblings.

Honoring Joyce’s wishes there will be a private family service. Flowers are gratefully declined. For those who wish, memorial donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
