Dalton Ray Stafford

1948 ~ 2018

Dalton Stafford, beloved husband of Shirley, passed away on Sunday, July 8, 2018 in the Foothills Hospital while battling cancer.

Dalton was born September 5, 1948 in the Carmangay Hospital to Armidace and Gladys Stafford. He went to school in Carmangay and Vulcan and left the farm in 1966 to attend University of Alberta taking Engineering. He worked in Brantford, Ontario moving to Brandon, Manitoba in the spring of 1971 after meeting Shirley. They were married in Brandon on October 2, 1971. Dalton and Shirley moved to Lethbridge in 1973 where their three sons were born. Dalton had worked for the City of Lethbridge most of his career when he retired in 2008. Together, Dalton and Shirley enjoyed travelling throughout their retirement years.

He is survived by his loving wife Shirley; his sons Garvin (Treena) Burk and Lanie; Shane (Wendy) Amy and Ella; Daryl (Sarah); his mother-in-law Lila Parsonage; siblings Doreen, Marilee, Tom and his numerous nieces and nephews.

Dalton is predeceased by his parents Gladys and Armidace Stafford; his brother Gerald Stafford; and his step-father Dave Duncan.

A Memorial will be held at 1:00pm on Monday, July 16, 2018 at the COAST HOTEL BALLROOM, 526 Mayor Magrath Drive South, Lethbridge with a Graveside following at 2:00pm, Monday, July 16, 2018 at Mountain View Cemetery, 1210 Scenic Drive South, Lethbridge.
