Mary Sorgard

1927 ~ 2018

My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.”

Mary Anne Sorgard, beloved wife of the late Norman Sorgard passed away peacefully on October 1, 2018 at the age of 91 years.

Mary was born in Himod, Hungary in 1927 and immigrated with her family to Canada in 1929. She married Norman Sorgard in 1948 and they settled on a farm in the Iron Springs area to raise their five sons. Mary was known as a loving wife, mother and grandmother, an excellent cook and gardener but most of all she was a faithful servant to her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

Mary is survived by her four sons, Randy (Rhonda), Dale (Jean), Patrick, Ted (Anita) and daughter-in-law Karen as well as grandchildren Derek (Anna), Chris (Vanessa), Ryan, Jeff, Kristy (Ryan), Shannon (Jason), Michael, Mark (Emily), Joshua, Andrew and Sam in addition to many great grandchildren. She is also survived by sisters Mickey and Ethel.

Besides her loving husband Norman, Mary was predeceased by her son Jamie and five siblings – Coleman, Frank, Tex, Anne and Rose.

A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00pm, on Tuesday October 9, 2018 at, MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 4 Street South, Lethbridge, AB.
