It is with great sadness we must say goodbye to a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend.
We were so very grateful mom and dad were able to celebrate their 62nd wedding anniversary on February 1, 2019 with daughters Diane and Mike Fletcher, Donna Thom, Debbie and Ron Bauer, and his grandchildren Amanda (David), Andrew, and Abbilynn, and their father Joe Thom.
Smitty was born in Lethbridge and raised in Coalhurst. He enjoyed a long and fulfilling 28-year career with the Lethbridge City Police Force, but his greatest enjoyment was spending time with his family for Sunday suppers, and taking his grandchildren on trips. We will all miss his beautiful blue eyes, contagious smile, and witty sense of humor.
Special thanks to the Doctor’s, EMT’s, and nurses at the Chinook Regional Hospital.
Very special thanks to his fourth daughter and granddaughter Karen Thom and Michelle Chatterton.
At Andrews request, there will be no funeral.
Rest in peace papa, you will be missed.
