RUBY MAY SHAW-PETIT of Lethbridge, passed away on Tuesday, March 4, 2008 at the age of 76 years.

Ruby is survived by her husband of 10 years, Raymond Petit; daughter Judy (Kirk) Godlonton; sons Montie (Geri) Shaw and Tim (Shelley) Shaw; two step-daughters Michelle (Troy) Kirkham and Monique Petit; as well as 12 grandchildren, Carrie (Gord) Larson, Codey (Amanda) Godlonton, Jason and Darren Shaw, Justin (Amber) Shaw, Cherilyn and Krystal McNeely, Rick and Nicole Siljak, Nicole (Jason) Kowal, Adam and Jessie Hamilton; 4 great-grandchildren Aspen and Mickyla Larson, Dominic Shaw and Brynnley Kowal. She also leaves to morn her sister Darlene Friesen; brother Jim Schlachter; brothers-in-law Marshall Shaw, Rey (May) Shaw and two sisters-in-law, Carol Petri, Louise (Bill) Byrne; as well as many special nieces and nephews.

Ruby was predeceased by her husband of 43 years, Ernie Shaw; her parents, John and Rose Schlachter; an infant son Frankie; brother John (Sonny) Schlachter and sister Valarie Shaw.

Ruby was born in Weyburn, Saskatchewan on November 20, 1931 and moved to various locations in Alberta before settling in Lethbridge and marrying Ernie. She enjoyed many years of fishing and camping at Duck Lake, and watching the Lethbridge Hurricanes Hockey games. She was a long time member of the Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary for 44 years. Ruby also was an excellent dart player. She enjoyed 20 years of working at the New Farmer's Market in Lethbridge, before retiring. Ruby loved all her family.

A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00PM on Monday, March 10, 2008 at MARTIN BROS. RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, with Reverend Elizabeth Brown, officiating.
