Victor Karl Frederick Saunders of Lethbridge, beloved husband of Christine, passed away gently and peacefully on August 12, 2016, at the age of 95 years.

Vic will be lovingly remembered by his children Doug (Barb), Jim (Katie), and Carolyn (Dan) Ethier; his grandchildren Curt (Tammy), Jill (Greg) Walkey, Chad (Kristy) Billyard, Tom Speakman, Sarah (Darryl) Kooiker, Arlen (Mandi) Speakman, Ben (Laura) Ethier, Sarah Ethier; his nine great-grandchildren; plus many nieces, nephews, and friends. Vic was predeceased by his parents Henry and Karoline, and sisters Minnie, Kae, Caroline and Lil, all of Winnipeg.

Vic enjoyed people and life, bringing his genuine smile and quick wit to each encounter. He devoted 40 years as Office Manager at Canada Packers, retiring in 1983. A man of quiet, solid faith, Vic was a dedicated member of the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, Kiwanis Club, Probus, and Lethbridge Senior Citizens Organization. He volunteered at the Lethbridge Soup Kitchen and other community groups until his 90th birthday.

After developing Alzheimer’s, Vic moved to St. Therese Villa, and we are deeply grateful to the staff, who not only cared for “Victor” but embraced him as family.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00pm on Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at LUTHERAN CHURCH OF THE GOOD SHEPHERD, 2406 11 Ave S, Lethbridge AB, with Pastor Tom Peterson officiating.
