MRS. ELIZABETH CUNLIFFE SANDHAM of Lethbridge passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 12, 2010 at the age of 99 years.

Elizabeth was born on the homestead to Marie and Robert Cunliffe, granddaughter of Reuben and Ann Hargreaves on January 17, 1911 and attended Fort Kipp School. In 1930 she married Harvey Sandham and together on the farm at Coaldhurst they raised four children. They retired to Lethbridge in 1976 and in 2000 Elizabeth moved to the River Ridge Condominium.

Elizabeth and Harvey exemplified an outstanding early farm family. Born on homesteads they lived and worked in the Coalhurst area, provided outstanding guidance and support to their extended family, children and grandchildren. They both aspired to better education and through their sacrifices made it possible for their children to be educated. After Harvey's passing in 1977 Elizabeth took pride in being a wise and helpful head of the family to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Elizabeth is survived by two sons Richard of Coalhurst and Dr. Dean (Joan) Sandham of Calgary; daughter Marie Marjerison; son-in-law Dale Riddle of California; fifteen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. She is predeceased by her husband Harvey in 1977; daughter Elnora (Micki) in 2003; grandson Patrick in 1995; sisters Mary, Ann and Jen; and brother Tom.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, June 16, 2010 at MARTIN BROS. RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 - 4 Street South, Lethbridge.
