John Thomas (Tom) Ruggles passed into the arms of his heavenly Father on Sunday, January 13, 2013 at Edith Cavell Care Center at the age of 77, after battling Alzheimer's disease for the past several years. He leaves to mourn his passing, his best friend and wife, Harriette; daughters, Barb of Lethbridge, Sharon (Emery) Dueck of Coaldale, and son Jeff (Shari) of Lethbridge; 3 special grandchildren, Jesse and Kayley Dueck and Zak Ruggles; 2 sisters, Carol (Don) Neufeld, Lethbridge, Iona (Calvin) Rutberg of Vulcan; 2 brothers, Lynn (Bobbi) Ruggles of Zillah Wash., Phil (Emae) of Sicamous, BC; sister-in-law Merlene Ruggles of Lethbridge; brothers-in-law, Garland (Edna) Hoel of Irricana, Dwight (Myrna) Hoel of Calgary, Arden (Pat) Hoel of Devon; sisters-in-law, Karen Hoel of Edmonton, Amber (Warren) Kittler of Leduc; as well as many nieces and nephews who meant a lot to him. He was predeceased by his parents Ross and Hazel Ruggles, brother Frank Ruggles, sister-in-law Mavis Hoel, and brother-in-law Roger Malonik. A Celebration of Tom's Life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, January 18th, 2013 at the Evangelical Free Church, 4717 - 24 Ave South, Lethbridge, with Pastors Ian Lawson and Dave Acree officiating. Burial will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 19th at the Travers Cemetery, southeast of Lomond, AB.
