Mr. Donald Duthie Ross, beloved husband of Doreen Ross, passed away with his family by his side at St. Michael's Palliative Care Centre on Friday, April 1, 2011 after a courageous four year battle with cancer.

Don was born in Alsask, Saskatchewan on January 30, 1935. As a young boy, he moved with his family to Calgary, Alberta where he was raised and educated. He started his career in the tire business with Dominion Rubber Company, later Uniroyal. In 1969 he joined the team at Kirk's Tire Sales in Lethbridge where he worked until his retirement in 1994. In 1969 he married Doreen and they have continued to reside in Lethbridge. Although he always had an interest in woodworking, it was after retirement that he was able to spend many hours working on projects for his family and friends. He was an avid golfer and especially enjoyed times spent at the condo in Meadow Lake, MT. He thought Hawaii was the best place on earth and made many trips there. He cherished time spent with family and was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.

Besides his loving wife Doreen, Don is survived by daughter Susan (Trevor) MacLean; step-daughter Lori Asquin; his precious grandchildren Jennifer Asquin, Emily MacLean and Thomas MacLean. He is also survived by his brother Keith (Pat Jardine) Ross; sister-in-law Audrey (Ed) Seniuk; brother-in-law Bob Anderson; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents William and Janetta Ross, stepson Kim Asquin, and sister-in-law Carole Anderson. The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to Vanessa and the nurses at Community Care, the Palliative Care Team at Chinook Regional Hospital, and St. Michael's for their care and compassion.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, April 7, 2011 at the FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH, 1614 - 5th Avenue S. Lethbridge, with Dr. Bruce Martin, officiating.
