Walter Roeder 1927 ~ 2013 Walter Roeder of Lethbridge, AB, beloved husband of Elsie, passed away peacefully on August 5, 2013 at the age of 85 years. Walter was born December 12, 1927 in Tarutino, Romania. Besides his wife, he is survived by his 3 children: Veronica (Peter) Sup, Dan (Renee) Roeder, and Adeline Roeder; 5 grandchildren: Seth & Faith Roeder, Celina, Brittany, and Zach Sup, and his younger brother Albert (Judy) Reder. He is predeceased by his older brother Daniel, as well as his parents. Walter married his soul mate, Elsie, on May 16, 1959, in Germany, then immigrated to Canada on August 4, 1959 to begin a new life. Walter was a man of many talents - he worked in the oil fields, carpentry, farming, welding, and mechanics. Ultimately, at the age of 59 he became the owner of a successful restaurant in Fort Macleod, where he had made his home and raised his family for 36 years. He spent his retirement years doing what he loved the most - spending time with family, farming at harvest time, enjoying his river view, watching hockey, shining his vehicles, working around the yard and regular trips to Hawaii. Dad & Opa will be missed greatly, but will be watching over us always. Family and friends are invited to a viewing and to pay their respects between 7:00 pm and 8:00 pm on Thursday, August 8, 2013 at Martin Brothers Riverview Chapel, 610 - 4th Street South, Lethbridge. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, August 9, 2013 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 20 Rocky Mountain Blvd West, Lethbridge, with Pastor Nathan Fuehrer officiating. Inurnment to follow in Mountain View Cemetery.
