FREDERICK RICHARD PARSONS passed away after a short illness at the Lethbridge Regional Hospital on Sunday, March 9, 2008 at the age of 66 years.

Fred was born in Winnipeg to Fred and Verna Parsons on April 15, 1941. He grew up in Winnipeg until his family moved to Calgary when he was 14. As an Air Cadet, Fred learned to love flying. He played high school football which also began a lifelong love for the Calgary Stamperders. He met and married Gail in 1965 and had two children Leishan and Jarett. Fred had a career in Credit Management working for UFA Consolidated Concrete and finally the Calgary Sun. Along with football he enjoyed skiing with his buddies Johnny and Mel and flying with his friend Dave. Fred left Calgary in 1990 to live at his favourite place the Shuswap Lake where he remarried had a daughter Kaylee. He later returned to Alberta living in the Crowsnest Pass and more recently Milk River. Good memories include Fred waxing Leishan's skis in preparation for the weekend, many evenings playing cards with Jarett and long days at the beach with Kaylee. Fred was also the birth father to a daughter Mary who he met last year; it was wonderful to find he had a new family to love him.

Fred is survived by his children Leishan Keller of Westbank, BC, Jarett Parsons of Calgary, Kaylee Parsons of Calgary and Mary Anderson of Lincoln, Nebraska; grandchildren Dylan and Nevan Keller of Westbank, BC and Connor, Lucas and Isabel Anderson of Lincoln, Nebraska; along with good friend and former wife Gail Stephens and her husband Dave. He also left behind his faithful loving cat Izzy the last of many.

A private family service will be held at the Shuswap Lake at a later date.
