Bill Reynolds

Official Obituary of

21/2/1952 - to - 3/1/2011

MR. WILLIAM "BILL" REYNOLDS of Lethbridge, beloved husband of Cindy Reynolds and loving father to Serena (James) Wesley, Kurtis (Shannon) Reynolds, and Sandy (Rusty) Regier, passed away peacefully in his home with his family by his side on Monday, January 3, 2011 at the age of 58 years.

Bill was born to Albert and Bernice Reynolds in Birch River, Manitoba on February 21, 1952. It was there that he attended elementary school with his brother Steve and sister Georgina. He attended junior high school in Lynn Lake, Manitoba, and began high school in Flin Flon, Manitoba before ending high school in Fort Macleod, Alberta. He married Georgina Buzunis in 1971, and 2 years later they began a family with their first addition Serena. Bill, Georgina and Serena moved to Lethbridge in 1976 where Bill began to work for Lyle's Custom Carriers and it was also in that same year that they were blessed with their second addition to the family, a feisty red haired little boy named Kurtis; then again the next year with their youngest child, Sandy. In 1983 the whole family moved to Coalhurst where Bill enjoyed playing softball, coaching hockey, and getting together with good friends. 1990 Bill and Georgina parted ways and Bill remained in Coalhurst for quite a few years, and travelled back and forth to work in Fort Macleod at Alberta Hardware. He did this also to be near his daughters who lived in Fort Macleod and his mother whom he loved very dearly.

Bill married his soul mate and best friend on July 1, 2005 in a private family ceremony and has never looked back. Cindy Farries had now become Cindy Reynolds and was the best thing that has ever happened to Bill. With Cindy, came and addition in children as well. Elisha (Chris) Judge, Quinton (Danielle) Minor, and Lacey (Keith) Minor; and Bill loved them all very much. Cindy has spent the last 5 years loving and caring for Bill, and when Bill was diagnosed with Invasive Bladder Cancer in February 2010, Cindy was his rock and his strength. Chris and Elisha Judge were also pillars in Bill's treatments. Bill's brother Steve, his son-in-law Chris, along with Serena and Sandy drove Bill daily to his treatments in Calgary, and Elisha and Chris were always there to help Bill and Cindy with housework, and yard upkeep.

Bill has been faced with many losses in his life. In 1962 he lost his sister Georgina, in 1996 he lost his best friend; his mother Bernice. In 2005 he stood by and watched and supported his youngest daughter Sandy as she dealt with the sudden death of her husband Mike. But; the most devastating blow of all for Bill; was when he tragically lost his son Kurtis in an avalanche in March 2010. No matter how many rough hands he has been dealt; Bill faced each one of these challenges with strength and courage. His main concern in all of this was not himself, but his love for his family. His focus was always on others around him, and he made this very obvious.

He was always open for coffee, family gatherings, and ALWAYS available for his family. Never once did he lose his amazing sense of humor.

We love you so very much Papa, we will miss you every single moment, of every single day. Our lives just won't be the same without you.

Besides his loving wife Cindy, Bill is survived by his daughters Serena (James) Wesley, Sandy (Rusty) Regier; daughter-in-law Shannon Reynolds; step-children Elisha (Chris) Judge, Quinton (Danielle) Minor, Lacey (Keith) Minor; grandchildren Brendan Wesley, Apryl Regier, Ashton Wesley, Kadin Reynolds, Kole Reynolds, Ashley Judge, Jayden Judge, Matt Regier, Isabella, Tryston and Jillian Minor, Cohen Gelenzoski; brothers Steve Reynolds, Blaine Primrose; very special friend Judy Reynolds; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and their families.

Bill was predeceased by his parents Albert Reynolds and Bernice Primrose; sister Georgina; son Kurtis Reynolds and son-in-law Mike Robbins.
