Michael Bruce Rettie August 5, 1961 - October 1, 2012 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of MICHAEL BRUCE RETTIE on October 1, 2012 following a sudden illness. He is survived by his mother Avis; sister Kathy; brother Roy; sister-in-law Jennifer; nephews Wade, Christian and Sam; and niece Holly (Gard). Michael, or Cat as he was popularly known, was born and raised in the Turin and Picture Butte area. Mike studied mechanics at the Lethbridge Community College and later started Mike Rettie Excavating which he owned and operated for the past 25 years. Living in the Picture Butte area his entire life, Mike built a time-honored reputation for hard work, loyalty and sense of fairness. Mike was an avid supporter of community events and causes; over the years he sponsored junior and senior baseball and curling teams. Mike will miss his community as much as it will miss him. Mike will be sadly missed by his family and many friends. All are welcome to gather for a service marking his life at 1:00pm, on Friday October 5, 2012 at ST. CATHERINE'S CHURCH, 762 Crescent Ave, Picture Butte.
