MRS. MARJORY THOMSON PSIKLA of Lethbridge, beloved wife of Alexander Psikla, passed away suddenly on Friday, November 30, 2007 at the Chinook Regional Hospital at the age of 82 years.

Marjory was born in Vulcan, AB on September 22, 1925. She was raised on the family farm southwest of Vulcan where she attended rural school. After graduating from high school she attended normal school in Calgary and then the University of Alberta in Edmonton, graduating in 1951 with a Bachelor of Education. Marjory taught in rural areas around Claresholm and Southern Alberta.

In 1956 Marjory met Al Psikla and they were married on August 1, 1964. Together they lived in various places finally settling in Lethbridge. In Lethbridge, Marjory taught Grade 1 at George McKillop and General Stewart Schools. Marjory loved children and she wanted to be a teacher from a very young age. After Marjory and Al's infant daughter died before birth Marjory decided she wanted to teach first grade. She felt that all the children she taught were her children.

Marjory enjoyed camping and loved to travel. She travelled to Scotland, Hawaii, Eastern Canada and the Western Coast of the United States. Marjory and Al spent 6 winters in Arizona.

Besides her loving and devoted husband Alexander, Marjory is survived by her sisters Mable (Darrel) Maisey of Lethbridge, Evelyn (Douglas) Smith of Vulcan; brother James (Jean) Reath of Vulcan; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Marjory was predeceased by her parents George and Marion Reath and her infant daughter.

Marjory experienced numerous illnesses throughout her life; she handled each one positively, never complaining. Her solid, positive simple trust in God was an example to all who knew her. She will be dearly missed by those who were close to her.

Family and Friends are invited to a visitation from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM, on Tuesday, December 4, 2007 at MARTIN BROS. RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610-4th St. S., Lethbridge, AB.

A Funeral Service will be held at 1:30 PM on Wednesday, December 5, 2007 at PARK MEADOWS BAPTIST CHURCH, 2011-15th Ave. N., Lethbridge, AB, with Pastor Barry Seifert, officiating. Interment to follow in Mountain View Cemetery.
