Alice Postman

Official Obituary of

23/12/1930 - to - 17/1/2012

ALICE MARY POSTMAN (nee Kooy) was called home on January 17, 2012, at the age of 81 years, of a restrictive lung disease. Alice was born to Peter and Jennie Kooy and grew up near Nobleford. She graduated from Galt School of Nursing in 1951.

After marrying her youth group sweetheart, Henry and Alice settled for a short time in Abbotsford where she worked as a nurse. They spent most of their time on the farm near Nobleford, but also lived in Three Hills and Creston, and recently The Gardens at Westhighlands. She embraced farm life well, enjoying her flowers and gardening, and loved to whistle while she worked in her home. Many have been blessed by her warm hospitality, and a ""pot of soup"".

Alice is survived by her husband Henry, her children Donna, Gerald, Dan, Ken, Lynnette, Heather, grandson Leon, and by her sisters Johanna and Bertha, and brother Albert. She has 26 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brothers Peter and Ralph.
Alice was a kind and caring person and was well- liked by everyone. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.

We rejoice and thank God for the privilege of sharing life with her. She will be greatly missed. We also express our thanks to the supportive staff at all the health care facilities she entered through her final illnesses.

Alice clung to the words of the old hymn, Breathe on me Breath of God, even in her last days. Alice's lifeline was her faith in Jesus. Her dying wish was to hear from all her children and be comforted by them. This was graciously granted.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects between 10:00am and 10:45am on Saturday, January 21, 2012 followed by the Funeral Service at 11:00am at the Nobleford Christian Reformed Church, 522 - Highway Avenue, with Pastor Kevin Jordan, officiating. A Graveside Service will take place in the Monarch Nobleford Cemetery immediately following the Funeral Service. A reception will follow at the Church.

Service Date: January 21, 2012
