MR. ADOLPHE MAHIEUX PETIOT of Lethbridge, beloved husband of Mrs. Anne Petiot, passed away on Tuesday, June 12, 2007 at the age of 84 years.

Adolphe was born in Lille Carvan France and orphaned at birth. He was brought to Canada at the age of 3 weeks and raised by Palmar Bonnier and Isadora Petiot in Cowley. He grew up on the family farm in Cowley and started farming at an early age. He then went to work for the CPR for the next 35 years as a Section Foreman in Brocket, Fort MacLeod and Lethbridge. After retirement, Dad spent many years camping at the Old Man River Boat Club and hunting in the hills at Pincher Creek where he grew up. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus for 47 years, 60 plus club and was a member of the Assumption Parish.

Adolphe met the love of his life, Anne, in Cowley where they married in 1946 and spent the next 60 years together always at each others side. He is also survived by his children Jerrold (Shirley) Petiot, Diane (Bruce) Walker and David (Donna) Petiot; grandchildren James (Lorrie) Walker, Carl Walker, Robbie (Wanita) Petiot, Mark (Shaunet) Petiot, Lorrie (Jason) Kushnerick, Richard Petiot, Dean Petiot, Christine Walker, Michelle Walker, Cam Martin and Kelly Martin; 16 great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and their families. He was predeceased by his parents, brothers, sisters and numerous relatives in France.

Vigil Rites (Prayers) will be held at 7:00PM on Friday, June 15, 2007 at MARTIN BROS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 - 4 Street South, Lethbridge led by Cybele and Francis Noronha.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30AM on Saturday, June 16, 2007 at OUR LADY OF THE ASSUMPTION CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2405 - 12 Ave South, Lethbridge, with Father Raul Hernandez celebrant. Interment to follow in the Mountain View Cemetery.
