Lydia Jean Peters of Taber, beloved wife of Robert (Bob) Peters and mother to Lyndia, Jeremy Brahm and Kaylee, passed away on October 21 at the age 51 years. Lydia was born in Lethbridge, Alberta to Tena Jean and Henry Lepp.

Throughout her life Lydia touched the lives of many people and she will be dearly missed. She was a fabulous baker, avid gardener and enthusiastic crafter. Lydia worked at a variety of jobs from her start in the insurance industry to running a day-home and working for Canada Post. No matter what the job or task at hand Lydia was always giving and dedicated. She was a relationship-driven woman and a supportive and loving mother, wife, sister and friend.

Despite her recent years of illness she remained courageously optimistic and focused her generous spirit and creative talent to inspire hope in others.

Besides her loving husband Bob, Lydia is survived by her two daughters Lyndia and Kaylee, her son Jeremy Brahm, her sisters Margaret (Jack) Humphrey, Helen (Ric) Goerzen, Susan (Gerald) Dyck, her brother Ed Lepp and their children, numerous cousins and other relatives. She is also survived by her husband's family: mother Agnes Peters, brothers Gerry (Anita) Peters, Ron Peters, and sister Marina (Tim) Newell and their families.

Lydia's family and friends would like to send a heartfelt thanks to all the caring doctors and staff who looked after her at the Chinook Regional Hospital, the Southern Alberta Renal Program, the Tom Baker Centre and the Taber Hospital. Our deepest gratitude to doctors: Wedel, Wong, and Bahlis.

Family and friends are invited to attend the funeral service on Monday, October 26, 2009 at 1:00pm at Taber Evangelical Free Church (5437 48 Ave) with graveside service at 4:00pm at the Coaldale Mennonite Cemetery. Pastor Ron Gartly and Pastor Harry Unger will be officiating.
