ADDIE MAY PERDUE

January 28, 1926 ~ April 15, 2008

ADDIE MAY PERDUE (nee McMurren) beloved wife of the late Charles Perdue, passed away peacefully at Edith Cavell on Tuesday, April 15, 2008.

Addie was born on January 28, 1926 in Lethbridge. She was raised on a farm in West Lethbridge and attended school in Coalhurst. After graduation she attended hair dressing school in Lethbridge. She worked at Madame Tufflands Salon. In 1944 she met Charles Perdue and they married on December 14, 1944. Addie and Charlie labored for 11 years on a farm in the Newlands District where they made many good friends.

Addie was a crafty lady and excelled in crafts such as paper tole and she loved teaching classes in knitting, crocheting, etc. She always had a project on the go and many of those grace the walls of several friends and family.

Addie managed the lunch counter at Woolworths and Zellers and won a major service award at Zellers. Her lunch counters were well received and she had many regular customers and friends. The service was excellent. In her later years, she participated in many Seniors Centre activities and enjoyed her favorite past times, casino, bingo and eating out. Whenever you called she was ready to go, she didn't care where and was in no hurry to go home.

Addie is survived by her 3 children Jean Lapointe, Ken Perdue and Mary-Lynn Muhly; 6 grandchildren Guy (Dawn) Lapointe, Aaron (Maggie) Lapointe, Monique (Kyle) Weston, Tara (Brian Thiessen), Lisa Perdue and Adam Muhly; known as G.G. to her 9 great-grandchildren Daniel, Tanner and Nathan Lapointe, Douglas, Shaun and Allysa Lapointe, Kelsey and Beau Weston and Mason Thiessen; brothers Robert (Bea) McMurren and Stan (Marg) McMurren; sister-in-law Dorothy (Don) Fraser; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and ""adopted"" families and friends.

She was predeceased by her husband Charles, mother Goldie, father Harry and son-in-law Dave Lapointe.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00pm on Friday, April 18, 2008 at POPSON PARK.

Memorial Donations may be made to the Edith Cavell Care Center, Recreation Department, 1255 - 5 Ave South, Lethbridge, AB T1J 0V6, as a thank you for all the good times Addie had.
