Barbara Pelletier

Official Obituary of

25/3/1914 - to - 7/12/2009

MRS. BARBARA PELLETIER of Lethbridge, beloved wife of the late Mr. Charles Pelletier, passed away peacefully on December 7, 2009 at the age of 95 years.

Besides her loving husband Charles, Barbara was predeceased by her parents, her brothers and sisters and one granddaughter, Stephanie.

Barbara was born in Scotland to David and Christina Auchinleck. In 1946, Barbara traveled as a war bride with two small children on the Ocean Liner Aquatania, arrived in Canada to be re-united with her husband Charles to start a new life.

She worked for the Admiralty during the Second World War, working closely under Sir Winston Churchill. For many years Mom was involved with the Ladies' Auxiliary for the Atikokan Legion Branch. While in Atikokan, one of her daily highlights was to join her many friends for coffee. Mom was an optimist, seeing the bright side of everything. She had a great sense of humor and was sharp to the end. She was passionate about politics, crosswords, reading, dancing and was an awesome story teller.
Since moving to Lethbridge, Mom joined the On Our Own group at the LSCO where she met new friends and always had great times.

Barbara will be sadly missed by all, for her kind, loving, caring, helping and giving nature. Mom will be especially missed by her children.

Barbara is survived by her 8 children, daughters; Christine (Peter) Kane, Marguerite McCuaig, Elizabeth Pelletier, Evelyne (Jack) Olchowecki and Doris Pelletier, along with her sons; Edward (Lise) Pelletier, Johnny (Gloria) Pelletier and Hamish (Calla) Shea- Pelletier.
As well as her grandchildren; Andre, Sophie, Michelle, Anthony, John, Brian, Michael, Danny, Josiane, Suzanne, Pascal, Harrison, Charles, Linda, Manon, Natalie and Christina, also numerous great-grandchildren.

We, the family, wish to express our gratitude for the exceptional care that our mother received from Dr. Strank and Dr. Wedel all the nurses, doctors and clergy of the CRH.

A special thank you to our niece Suzanne for guiding the family through difficult decisions and for the extra tender care she gave her grandmother.

A Private Family Service will be held at a later date in Ontario. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Chinook Regional Hospital Foundation, Lethbridge, AB or to the Atikokan General Hospital, Atikokan, ON.
