Lenora Joyce Overn

1944 ~ 2018

Lenora Overn, of Coaldale, passed away peacefully with her husband at her side on February 6, 2018 at St. Michael’s Health Centre at the age of 73 years.

Lenora was born November 13, 1944 in Coaldale to parents Jake and Helen Rogalsky, sixth in the birth order of eight children. Her and Dave wed on January 18, 1964 and together they raised their three children. Lenora spent much of her time being a doting grandmother, volunteering, playing piano, golfing, selling Watkins, playing scrabble, baking, and making her famous Turtles. She also treasured her many friends, including her ladies’ groups, golfing partners, and cherished the many laughs she had together with friend, Angie Tobin.

She will be lovingly remembered by her husband Dave Overn; three children Brenda (Keith) Atkinson, Barry (Nicola Franks) Overn, and Bradley (Becky) Overn; nine grandchildren Candice (Josh) Anderson, Alyssa (Dave) Kusalik, Bethany Traber (Shawn Jacula), Xander Overn, Janaea, Alayna, Shayla, McKenna and Zakary Overn; two great grandchildren Rylee and Taylor Kusalik; six siblings Lynn (Darryll) Graber, Warren Rogalsky (Louise Eamon), Ed (Margaret) Rogalsky, Vic (Doreen) Rogalsky, Elsie (Grant) Rombough, and Ken (Dorit) Rogalsky; brother in-law Pete Loewen; sister in-law Stella Friesen; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She was predeceased by her parents Jake and Helen Rogalsky; parents in law Christian and Mabel Overn; sister Marlene Loewen; sister in law Marion Perkins; brother in law Dan Friesen; and great nephew Jason Pettem.

A Celebration of Life will be taking place on Monday, February 12, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the Gem of the West Museum, 1306 – 20 Street, Coaldale, with a reception to follow.
