It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Janis Diane Overn (Popson), who died peacefully in her home on September 18th, 2024, surrounded by her family and her cherished St. Bernard Stanley. After a long battle with cancer, Janis is now at rest.

Janis was a beacon of love and warmth in the lives of all who knew her. Her boundless kindness and nurturing spirit touched everyone she met.

She is survived by her daughters, Holly Verhaest (Jerrod) and Bobbi Whillans; and her three grandchildren, Jadie, Jace, and Harper, who were the light of her life. mother-in-law, Anne Overn; stepdaughter, Lyndsay Walcott (Todd); step grandchildren Addison, Rowen, Autumn; brother Darren Popson; sister, Michelle Popson; nephews, Josh (Char) Marchuk, Brett (Kristey) Marchuk, Jeff Popson, Bo Popson; loving friend, Cam Jarvie.

She was predeceased by her father, Stan Popson; mother Loretta Gortzen; sister, Cheryl Marchuk; her husband Rob Overn; and their beautiful St. Bernard Charlie.

Janis led a life full of love and fun. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her family, her two St. Bernard’s Stanley and Charlie and especially her grandchildren who never went without her hugs or a tasty treat. She had a passion for gardening, hosting holiday dinners, volunteering at the greenhouse, camping, and dirt biking.

Her vibrant spirit and big heart made a lasting impact on everyone she met.

She will be deeply missed by her family and friends, who will remember her for the unwavering love and the warmth she brought into their lives.

An intimate gathering to celebrate her remarkable life will be held at a later date.
