MRS. EDITH ""AMY"" ONOFRYCHUK of Lethbridge beloved wife of the late Mr. John Onofrychuk passed away at the Chinook Regional Hospital on March 27, 2012 at the age of 90 years.

Mom was born in Farnborough, Hants, England on November 17, 1921 to Maurice and Edith Brake.

She met the love of her life John in 1941 and they married in 1942. They had their first child Michael in 1943. In May 1945 she set sail for Canada and came to Lethbridge where she resided for the rest of her life. In 1946 they had their second child Barrie and in 1949 their daughter Wendy.

Amy was an active member of the Ladies Auxillary of the Royal Canadian Legion in the early years and was a member for 63 years. She worked at the Legion from 1957 to 1972. She was a life member of the Nord Bridge Seniors joining in 1984. Amy loved playing crib, going home to England, camping, fishing and going on day trips, especially to the mountains. Her second fondest memory was going to a garden party at Buckingham Palace and meeting and talking to Prince Philip.

Amy is survived by her sons Michael (Marilyn) and Barrie (Linda) and daughter Wendy (Ron) Watt; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews and their families. Besides her beloved husband John, Amy was predeceased by her parents, her sister Jean and brother Les.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, April 3, 2012 at MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 - 4 Street South, Lethbridge, with Canon Allan McCuaig officiating.
