Ruth Olsen April 19, 1943 ~ December 28, 2013

Jeanette Ruth Olsen passed away peacefully with her loving husband at her side in the Lethbridge Regional Hospital. Ruth was born in the Galt Hospital. She grew up in Lethbridge and met and married the love of her life, Butch, April 21, 1962. They raised their family of 3 children here until moving to Brooks in the summer of 1977. In 1987, Butch and Ruth moved to B.C. to pursue new business ventures. In 1997, they dabbled in the retirement world with their motorhome and dogs. In 1999 Ruth's life came full circle when they moved back to Lethbridge, where they have resided since. Ruth was a woman of many talents and was never one to back down from new challenges. While raising her family in Lethbridge, she was employed at the Pre-Built Trailer manufacturing. After moving to Brooks, Ruth owned and operated Oly's Cleaning Service. While in B.C., Ruth was part owner and operator of R-Body Toning for a short time, before working at Kelowna General Hospital. In 1990, Butch and Ruth bought a boarding kennel where she put her love of animals to good use boarding and grooming her four legged friends. After coming out of retirement, Ruth worked at the Lethbridge Regional Hospital, Sunrise Village, Bridgeview R.V. Park, and, until her passing, she managed 2 - 4 plex apartment buildings in Lethbridge. Ruth was predeceased by her parents Jim and Netta Walker and her sister Betty Young. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Butch, and their 3 children Gordon (Kathy) of Brooks, Sherry of Vancouver, Kevin (Kasey) of Brooks, 3 grandchildren Spencer, Jack, and Erik, sister Del Christian of Brooks, and numerous nieces and nephews. Ruth will be remembered as a lady who was passionate about the things that were important to her - Butch, her family, dogs, traveling, and her lasting friendships. Ruth's final requests were that no formal service be held. Memorial donations may be made to the Jack Ady Cancer Centre in Lethbridge 1A129, 960 19th Street South, Lethbridge, AB T1J 1W5.
