Official Obituary of

9/4/1925 - to - 24/6/2010

MR. FRED ""IVAN"" NORRIS of Warner, beloved husband of the late Mrs. Betty Norris, passed away at St. Michael's Palliative Care Centre on Thursday, June 24, 2010, with his family by his side, at the age of 85 years.

Dad was born in Lethbridge on April 9, 1925, at the Van Haarlem Hospital to Fred and Margaret Norris. He was raised in the Warner/New Dayton area, attending school in New Dayton. He married Betty Teskey in Edmonton on July 20, 1950. They moved onto the family farm and continued to live and farm in the Warner and Skiff areas.

Dad was predeceased by our mom Betty, on May 30 of this year. He was also predeceased by his parents, Fred and Margaret, sister-in-law Lillian Norris, brother-in-law Herb Teskey, and his special dog, Molly. Along with his many, many friends, Dad is survived by his three children; son Alan (Sherry) Norris and their children Dana (Brad) Johnson and Jesse Norris; daughter Joan Norris; daughter Carol (Darcy) Cronkhite and their children; Linde (Troy) Yancie, Randi (Ian) Martens, and Cody (Aspen) Cronkhite. He leaves seven great-grandchildren; Rayna, Kamryn and Corryn Yancie; Mataya and Tanzi Johnson; and Jaylen and Jacey Cronkhite. Also surviving Dad is his brother Bill Norris, niece Judy (Arlo) Neufeld, Larry Norris, Gayle (Kim) Prindle and their families; and sister-in-law Babs Teskey, niece Debra (Derek) Jackson and nephew Garth (Carol)Teskey and their families.

Our sincere gratitude goes to all the staff at St. Michael's Palliative Care Unit, the staff at Milk River Hospital Continuing Care, and the staff at Units 4B and 4C at Chinook Regional Hospital for the loving care and attention given to Dad during his final days. Thank you also to Dr. Lewke-Bogle, Dr. Holland, Dr. Kwan, Dr. Janzen and all of the doctors that attended Dad during his illness. A special thanks to all of those who visited Dad and lent their support to him and his family during this difficult time.

Dad's wishes were to be cremated, and a private family graveside service will be held.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, June 30, 2010 at MARTIN BROS. RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 4th Street South, Lethbridge, with Pastor Brian Magee, officiating.

If you so desire, a donation in Dad's name may be made to the Warner Fireman's Society, P.O. Box 218, Warner, AB T0K 2L0, or to the Warner Hockey School, P.O. Box 150, Warner, AB T0K 2L0, or to a charity of your choice.
