STEFANIA NESTOROWICZ of Coaldale, passed away of natural causes, at the Cedar Creek AdaptaCare on Thursday, February 07, 2013, at the age of 87 years.

Stefania is predeceased by her husband, Zygmont and grandsons, Timothy and Loren who will be meeting her in heaven.

""Baba"" leaves behind a very large, loving family who will remember her forever because of her gentle spirit, strong will, and loving support of each and every one of us. She is survived by her 4 children, Edward, Roman, Rosemary, and Carllyn; her loving daughter and son-in-laws, Patricia, Darlene, Ralph and Joe; her 9 grandchildren Lisa, Nola, Victoria, David, Adam, Enzo and Marcello; her 8 great-grandchildren Terry, Tristan, Haylee, Logan, Kelti, Tayen, Kasey and Talen.

Born in Poland in 1925, Stefania was made to work hard from a very young age to help support a large family of 8 brothers and sisters. At the tender age of 15, she was forced to work on a farm in Germany. At the end of the war, she met her husband Zygmont and they immigrated to Canada. They survived a long and treacherous boat trip with Ed and Roman in tow and landed in Halifax, and immediately made their way to Lethbridge by train. After much sacrifice and hard work, they saved enough to buy their own piece of land, and made it into the family farm just west of Coaldale. After Zygmont's sudden death in 1973, Stefania moved into the town of Coaldale where she continued to go back and forth to the farm to enjoy her gardening and help out with any chores as she was needed. Baba especially loved looking after all the grandchildren, and being with her family brought great joy to her life.

After many years of living with arthritis pain, she moved to Martha House in Lethbridge. Her final moments were spent with her loving family, and in excellent care from the nurses, doctors, and staff at AdaptaCare, who the family would especially like to thank for all the loving care they have given Stefania throughout her stay there. Stefania has left a loving legacy which is to seek joy and be grateful no matter what the circumstance.

A private family service will be held on Monday, February 11, 2013.
