Official Obituary of

4/7/1933 - to - 16/4/2011

ALDO ""Coach"" NECHICH passed away peacefully into eternal rest on Saturday, April 16, 2011 at the age of 76, in the arms of his daughter. He is finally free of his struggles with Parkinson's disease.

He is survived by his loving loyal and devoted wife of 55 years, Inge, his daughter Doris Larson and her husband Randy Shield, his daughter Anita Helgeson and husband Monte, his 3 grandchildren; Leah (Neil) Sprinkle, Tyler Gullickson, and Dina Larson; his 7 step-grandchildren; Tyrell and Desi Shield, Lacey, Jai, Nevada, Skye, and Vane Helgeson, his 3 great-grandchildren; Mackenzie, Joshua and Ashton Sprinkle and 3 step great-grandchildren; Maci Shield, Lauralie and Jade. He also leaves 2 brothers; Guido Nekich and Bepi (Helga) Nekich, along with many nieces and nephews and his in-laws; Paul and Betty Loeffler and sister-in-law Karin Willard.

He was predeceased by his parents Santo and Giovanna, his brother Reno, his infant brother Bruno and a special great-nephew Michael Nicas.

Aldo was born on July 4, 1933 at ""Zara"" in his beloved Italy. He came to Canada at the age of 18 with his family in 1951.

He had several passions in life, first and foremost was family, and many sports, especially soccer, which he played as a youth, then promoted and coached until his illness forced him to stop in his fifties.

He loved to travel and visited Europe, Hawaii, Mexico and several US States.

He was a poet, writing several poems and an avid reader of newspapers, educational books, collected sports cards, coins and pins. He was Citizen of the Year in 1981 and inducted into the Sports Hall of Fame in 1988. He worked as a coalminer, a bartender and at Canada Packers for 23 years.

The family will cherish the many wonderful memories of a truly exceptional and special man.

The Celebration of Life will be held at 3:00 pm on Saturday, April 23, 2011 at the GERMAN-CANADIAN HALL, 902 6th Street North, Lethbridge.

Donations in Aldo's memory may be made to the Lethbridge Soccer Association 2501-28 Ave. S., Lethbridge, AB, T1K 7L6 or to the Lethbridge Chapter of the Parkinson's Society, 1254-3 Ave. S., Lethbridge, AB, T1J 0J9.
