Bob was a dedicated member of the Green Acres Kiwanis Club, becoming Club President and then Lieutenant Governor for District 8. He was also a volunteer and member of the Lethbridge Athletic Association for over 20 years, and following his retirement from The Herald, Bob became an advisor for Lethbridge Casino. Bob took up golf later in life and most early mornings he could be found on the course at Picture Butte. A highlight in his life was traveling with his wife Kay. They visited Disney World, twice, and followed Rob to Michigan, Scotland, England, Italy, Egypt, Thailand, Singapore and Alaska.
