It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Tibor Molnar of Lethbridge, Alberta, cherished husband of May, who passed away peacefully on August 28, 2025, at the age of 87 years. Tibor was born on July 24, 1938, in Pápa, Veszprém, Hungary, and later made Lethbridge his home, where he built a life filled with love, hard work, and dedication to his family. He is lovingly remembered by his children Wayne (partner Linda) and Kathy (husband Eric); his grandchildren Jessica (husband Alasdair), Trevor (wife Natasha), Celine, Luc, and Claire; his great-granddaughter Carlee; and many dear relatives in Canada and Hungary who will hold his memory close in their hearts. In 1956, Tibor bravely emigrated to Canada during the Hungarian Revolution, seeking safety and the opportunity for a better life. He worked on the Canadian Pacific Railroad, then as a bartender, and later in construction. Through years of hard work, he built a strong foundation for his family. His dedication and perseverance provided a home filled with life, love, and laughter, where countless cherished memories were created. Tibor enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, including fishing, camping, gardening, and playing card games. Many cherished memories were made outdoors with his family, especially during camping and fishing trips in his 1975 Scamper motorhome. At home, he found joy in tending to his garden and in the laughter shared over a good card game with friends and family. He was a dedicated member of the Hungarian Canadian Old Timers Society, contributing to the community since shortly after he settled in Lethbridge. He will be remembered for his kindness, his strong work ethic, and the deep love he held for his family and friends. His legacy of love, resilience, and dedication will be carried forward by all who knew and loved him. A celebration of Tibor’s life will be held at a later date.
