MR. GLEN RAY METZGER of Lethbridge, beloved husband of Edna Mae Metzger, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 11, 2009 at the age of 91 years.

Glen was born on December 21, 1917 at the Lethbridge Galt Hospital. He was raised on and operated the family farm north of New Dayton. Glen attended the Patterson Country Elementary School, then Stirling, and then went on to the Olds Agricultural College. After this he returned to the family farm and continued farming with his father.

He married Edna Mae Rockenbach on April 8, 1942, and they had three children. His hobbies were golfing, curling, hunting, and fishing. Glen's interests included riding with the Desert Corp. in many parades, baseball, cards, and the saxophone. He was a long standing member of the Shriners, the Pep Band, the Desert Corp, the Masonic Lodge, the Stirling Lions Club and the Warner Elks Club.

Besides his loving wife Edna Mae, Glen is survived by his daughter Carol Anderson of Richmond, BC, his son Roger (Ruth) Metzger of Wrentham, AB, as well as 11 Grandchildren and 10 Great Grandchildren.

Glen was predeceased by his parents Lewis and Elsie Metzger, his brothers Earl and Warren and his son Gregg Kent Metzger.

A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00pm, on Wednesday, June 17, 2009 at MARTIN BROS. RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 - 4 St., S., Lethbridge, AB, with Reverend Cathy Coates officiating. Interment to follow at the Archmount Cemetery.
