It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Mrs. Hella McDonald, beloved wife
of Mr. Ranald McDonald, on Wednesday, November 7, 2007 at the age of 66 years.

Hella was born in Kassel, Germany and came to Canada in 1954 with her mother, Frieda.

She settled quickly into her new environment becoming active in basketball and volleyball. She remained active throughout her life in pursuits such as hiking, cycling and dancing. A love of the outdoors and taking road trips was shared with her husband, Ranald. Her lifelong passion for ballroom dancing led to many cherished friendships. Appreciating life's simple pleasures, Hella enjoyed spending quality time with family and friends, walking her dog Meeko and enjoying an occasional thunder and lightning storm. Hella was always gentle and caring in nature. She took pleasure in performing for others with her line dance group as well as volunteering at a local senior's center.

She will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by husband Ranald, daughter Diane, son, Darren (Mayumi), step-son Kevin (Christine), grandchildren, Zachariah and Jessica, and step-grandchildren Zachary and Bradley. She is predeceased by sister, Irmgard (Robert).

She would like to thank everyone of her family and friends for their support in her year
long battle with cancer. She greatly appreciated the excellent care she received from her homecare staff, palliative team, cancer center staff and doctors.

Memorial service will be held at 11:00AM on Tuesday, November 13, 2007 at IMMANUEL LUTHERAN CHURCH, 20 Rocky Mountain Blvd West, Lethbridge, with Pastor Richard Brown officiating.

Flowers are gratefully declined. For those who wish, memorial donations may be made to their favourite charity.
