LELA MARTENS of Lethbridge, beloved wife of Eric H. Martens passed away suddenly on June 28, 2011 at the age of 59 years.
Lela was born June 12, 1952 in the Raymond Hospital to Ingeborg and Gunner Greendale.
She grew up and went to school in Lethbridge, attending the school of Broadcasting at Lethbridge Community College.
She married Eric Martens in 1972 and moved to Coaldale, where she had and raised three children; Aden, Kara, and Shaun.
She was a respected, self-taught potter, belonging to the Old Man Potters Guild. Her work is in a number of people's collections in Southern Alberta.
Besides her loving husband Eric Martens, Lela is survived by her daughter Kara (Mark) Murias and sons; Aden (Nicole) Martens and Shaun Martens, along with grandchildren Eric Martens and Harold Murias. She is also survived by a brother, Peter Greendale.
Lela was predeceased by her parents Ingeborg and Gunner Greendale.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, July 4, 2011 at MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 4th Street South, Lethbridge.
