Ruth Markus

1932 ~ 2018

Mrs. Ruth Markus of Lethbridge, beloved wife of the late Sundown Hank, passed away peacefully at the Chinook Regional Hospital on Friday, July 13, 2018 at the age of 86 years.

Ruth was born in Calgary to David and Laura Dunbar. She served as president of the Social Credit Women’s Auxiliary. She enjoyed attending her husband, Sundown Hank’s Memorial Trail Ride Against Cancer. Ruth was especially proud and loved her great-granddaughter Berkley and watched her little angel dance whenever she could.

Above all, Ruth loved her family unconditionally and was a wonderful mom.

She was predeceased by her first husband Melvin Brooks; her sister Jean Jensen; brother Dr. George Dunbar; and daughter-in-law- Rhona Markus.

Ruth will be lovingly remembered by daughter Laura Lea (Garren) Manser; son Jim “Laredo” Markus; daughter Shirley Wiaderny; grandsons Dave (Kari) Manser and Danny Wiaderny; as well as great-granddaughter Berkley Manser.

In keeping with Ruth’s wishes, a private family service will be held at Mountain View Cemetery.
