Karl Markus of Lethbridge, beloved husband of Alveda Markus, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 22, 2018 at the age of 91 years.

Karl was born in Monarch, Alberta to Karl and Mary Markus on June 23, 1927, the third oldest in a family of six children. Karl was a truck driver who established a fine trucking business of his own and was on the road from 1949 to 2004. His love for his fishing, hunting, camping took him to many places of enjoyment with his family and friends. Karl also loved his farm, where he spent many hours. It was a very special place to him. His love for his grandchildren and great grandchildren was exceptional. His nieces, nephews and their families were also special to him. Karl will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

Karl is survived by his wife, Alveda; daughter Karen (Jim) Markus, and son, Dwane Markus; grandson Clinton (Tamara) Marsters, great grandchildren; Kannon and Diora Marsters, granddaughters; Candace (Johannes) Marsters, and Tianna McInnes. He is also survived by his brother, Pete Markus, sisters; Hilda (Lloyd) Mallard, Clara Thompson, sister in law Hazel Markus, and many nieces and nephews.

Karl was predeceased by his brothers Hank Markus and Albert Markus.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, December 1, 2018 at MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610-4 STREET SOUTH, Lethbridge, AB.

A Celebration of his Life will be held following the service at the ROYAL ORDER OF MOOSE LODGE, 1401 – 5 Avenue North, Lethbridge, AB.
