Dwane Edward Markus was taken from us too early on November 4, 2022, at the age of 58. 

Dwane was born on May 12, 1964 to Karl and Alveda Markus in Lethbridge, Alberta.  He was a colorful character and a collector of many things.  Dwane lived most of his life in the Lethbridge area, venturing out and living in Kamloops and Wasa for a period of time.  His last home was on the farm where he had settled for the last 15 years with his three cats and whatever wild animals came by for a visit. 

Dwane always wanted to lend a helping hand to anyone that asked; his big heart always said yes.  You could always find him having a campfire, stoking the fire and chatting about the old days and plans for the future with his friends and family. His presence will be truly missed by his many friends from Lethbridge, Monarch, Wasa and White Lake Colony. 

He leaves behind his sister, Karen Markus (Jim Hill); his nephew Clint Marsters (Tamara); niece Candace Marsters (Johannes Krouthen) and their families; Kannon, Diora and Linnea.  His close cousins who always kept him in check: Dennis Brady, Barb Nast, Len Markus and Lorraine Thompson. He also leaves behind his daughter, Tianna McInnes. 

He was predeceased by his parents Karl (2018) and Alveda (2020) which left his huge void in his life.

The memories of him will bring smiles, as he always had one for you. 

A Celebration of his Life will be held at 2:00 pm, on Saturday, January 14, 2023. the ROCKY MOUNTAIN TURF CLUB, 3401 Parkside Dr S, Lethbridge, Alberta. We will also celebrate the life of Alveda Markus and Pete Markus (Dwane’s Uncle who passed November 19, 2019) which were postponed at their time of passing.
