On Sunday, December 22, 2019 the LORD took into his eternal glory Jane Leffers (nee Teitsma), loving mother of Howard and Irene (Nadia), Cornelius and Jennifer (Sophia, Darek, Kylie, Travis, Evan, Caitlyn), and Sylvia and Mike Hofsing (Brenda, Rebecca, Emily, Jared), at the age of 84.

            Jane was born in Brunssum, the Netherlands, on April 9, 1935. She came to Canada with her family in 1956 and settled in Barnwell, Alberta, initially working in the sugar beet fields. She eventually took different jobs, working in the pediatric ward at St. Michael’s Hospital, which she loved very much. In 1958, the family moved to Carman, Manitoba, where they settled on a farm. Jane worked in the local bank, enjoying this work for many years. Jane married John on April 2, 1969 and moved back to Alberta to farm in the Iron Springs area, where their three children were born. Jane was a dedicated wife and mother and worked tirelessly at the tasks God set before her. Through life’s trials and joys, she was comforted by God’s promises to shelter her and lift her high on a rock (Psalm 27:5)

            Jane was predeceased by her husband John, her parents, her sisters Elisabeth and Dorothy, and her brothers Arjen and Dennis. She is survived by her sister Cornelia (Gus) Van Dasselaar and sister-in-law Annie Teitsma.

            A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00am on Friday, December 27, 2019 at COALDALE CANADIAN REFORMED CHURCH, Hwy #3, Coaldale, Alberta, with Reverend J. Huijgen, officiating.

 A Private family graveside service will be held prior in the Coaldale Cemetery.
