LAURENCE CAMPBELL of Nobleford, beloved husband of Peggy Campbell, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 4, 2008 at the age of 74 years.

Laurence was born June 27, 1934 on the family farm near Belgrove, Ontario. He moved to Alberta in 1955, where he worked on a farm for 4 years. Laurence trained as a grain elevator manager and was sent to Nobleford in 1960 to manage the Alberta Pacific Elevator, and later the Federal Grain Elevator. In 1963 he married Peggy Parker, and they began farming her family farm in 1969. In 1995 his son began farming with him and they worked together up until his passing. Laurence retired to Nobleford in 2004. Over the last few years, Laurence and Peggy have enjoyed numerous cruises and trips throughout the world.

Besides his loving wife Peggy, Laurence is survived by his 2 daughters Lorraine (Clinton) Kooy of Quincy, Washington and Marlene (Geoff) Ward of Bahrain; 1 son Steve (Ang) Campbell of Nobleford; Grandchildren Brett and Damon Kooy, Nyla Ward and Carley Campbell; 1 sister Lois (Keith) Snell; 1 sister-in-law Bertie Campbell; 4 brothers Vic (Joyce) Campbell, Frank (Elaine) Campbell, Hugh (Orlena) Campbell and Harold Campbell; as well as numerous nieces and nephews and their families.

Laurence was predeceased by his parents Howard and Mary Campbell, and his brother Cecil Campbell.

A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00pm, Wednesday, September 10, 2008, at MARTIN BROS. RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 - 4 St., S., Lethbridge, AB, with Reverend Glenda Wert officiating.
