Wendy Lee Ladouceur (Wright)

Official Obituary of

31/1/1979 - to - 6/5/2021

It is with greatest sadness that the family of Wendy Lee Ladouceur (Wright) announced her passing away unexpectantly on May 6, 2021. At the time of her passing she was only 42.

Wendy will forever be missed and cherished by her son Michael Trever Colligan and daughter Elizabeth DC Ladouceur (father Anthony Ladouceur, who took on the role of fatherhood for both children wholeheartedly)

She is also survived by her mother Doris Pierson (Derek Ford); birth father John Wright (Shirley Lucas); stepfather Nowal Pierson (Besa and their son Daylan). She had three siblings who will never forget their sister, Luella Frances Margrete Wright, Clinton Lawrence Pierson (Jacqueline Davis) and Nowal Sonny Jr. Pierson. She was also an aunt to Harlow, Ryan, Cash, Lane, Theodore, Madison, Kaiden and Dawson.

She was predeceased by her grandparents John and Margarete Gotkiewicz, her cousin Haley Hogue and her aunts Debbie McCully, Linda Lornie and Lorraine Gotkiewicz on her mother’s side. On her stepfathers’ side, her grandparents Ruth and Lawrence Pierson, uncle Ken Tooke and cousin Shawn Ruggles. She was also predeceased by her mother-in-law Cathy Ladouceur. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and many dear friends she cherished deeply that are too numerous to mention. You know who you are!

How do you sum up who a person is in just a few words or a paragraph? Wendy was born January 31, 1979 in Trenton, Ontario and right from the start, she was full of fun and mischief. She was the best friend, the confidant and the person you could always turn to if you needed something. She loved her children whole heartedly. She loved her family fiercely. She treated all of her friends as family and her door was always open, as was her heart. She loved going for car drives with the music blaring and good conversation over coffee with a smoke (or two!). She enjoyed going out to karaoke with her brother Nowal and getting out to sing and dance. She was also the big sister to those in her life that came along and didn’t have one. Those who knew her best, knew she was a HUGE animal lover. There was hardly ever a time in her life when she did not have a cat or multiple ones. With Wendy, she never met a stray! They seemed to know and ALWAYS found her!

Wendy was also a very dedicated employee. At the time of her passing, she was one of the evening managers at the Southside Dairy Queen. She was very proud to be a manager and strove to make sure her job was done well and proper.

In lieu of flowers and or in honor of Wendy’s memory, please donate to one of the animal shelters in your area of your choice. Wendy was not a fan of funerals, so at her request, she will be cremated and a celebration of life will take place at a later date when we can all gather together safely.

As Wendy was a believer in the Lord, she would want us all to remember these verses in Mark 12:30-31 (NIV). “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength”. The second is this, “Love your neighbor as yourself. There is no commandment greater than these”.

Cremation has been entrusted to Martin Brothers Funeral Chapels.
